DNS over HTTPS (DoH) and DNS over TLS (DoT) are security protocols designed to enhance the level of protection and confidentiality of your internet connection by encrypting your DNS queries.

While browsing a website with HTTPS encrypts your data, historically, your DNS queries that convert human-readable domain names into IP addresses have traveled over an unencrypted connection. This exposes your online activities to potential surveillance, data alteration, and tracking by malicious actors.

The implementation of DNS over HTTPS and DNS over TLS effectively mitigates this security vulnerability by encrypting your DNS queries, thereby ensuring the confidentiality and security of even these specific requests.
